Job Purpose:
The Store / Inventory Manager is responsible for end-to-end control of raw materials, bought-out items, spares, consumables, and finished goods related to cooling tower manufacturing. The role ensures accurate inventory, timely material availability for production, FIFO compliance, and coordination with procurement, production, QC, and dispatch teams.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Inventory & Store Operations
• Maintain accurate stock records for:
- FRP raw materials (resin, glass fiber, gel coat, catalyst)
- Structural items (MS/SS hardware, supports)
- Mechanical items (fans, motors, gearboxes, shafts)
- Electrical items (cables, panels, sensors)
- Bought-out items & spares
• Ensure real-time inventory updating in ERP / Tally / Excel / SAP (as applicable).
• Monitor minimum, maximum & reorder levels to avoid stock-outs or excess inventory.
• Ensure FIFO / FEFO practices, especially for resins, chemicals, and consumables.
2. Inward & Outward Material Control
• Supervise inward material receipt, including:
- Verification against PO / Delivery Challan
- Quantity & basic visual checks
- Coordination with QC for inspection & acceptance
• Manage material issue to production as per:
- Approved BOM
- Job cards / Work orders
• Control outward dispatch of finished goods & spares in coordination with dispatch and logistics teams.
3. Documentation & Compliance
• Maintain all store documentation, including:
- GRN (Goods Receipt Notes)
- Material Issue Slips
- Stock Transfer Notes
- Rejection & return records
• Support ISO 9001 / QMS audits by maintaining:
- Stock registers
- Traceability records
- Material identification & tagging
• Ensure proper labeling, binning, and segregation of materials.
4. Coordination & Cross-Functional Support
• Coordinate closely with:
- Procurement for material planning and shortages
- Production for job-wise material allocation
- QC for inspection status & rejected material handling
- Dispatch & Logistics for packing and shipment readiness
• Provide inventory status reports to management on a weekly / monthly basis.
5. Stock Verification & Control
• Conduct:
- Daily physical checks for fast-moving items
- Monthly cycle counts
- Annual stock audits
• Investigate and report:
- Stock variances
- Shortages or damages
- Obsolete or slow-moving inventory
• Recommend scrap, disposal, or reuse of non-usable materials with approval.
6. Safety, Housekeeping & Store Discipline
• Ensure safe storage practices, especially for:
- Chemicals & resins
- Heavy mechanical components
• Maintain 5S / housekeeping standards in store areas.
• Ensure compliance with safety norms and PPE usage.

Required Skills & Qualifications
Education
• Diploma / Graduate in Mechanical, Production, or Supply Chain Management
• Certification in Inventory / Store Management is an advantage
Experience
• 3–8 years experience in industrial manufacturing stores
• Prior experience in cooling towers / heavy engineering / FRP / EPC projects preferred
Technical Skills
• ERP / Tally / Excel inventory tracking
• Understanding of BOMs, job cards, and production flow
• Knowledge of industrial materials & hardware
